Two new Louis Weeks tracks feature my guitar playing this month!
Very happy to have been featured by Audible Genius, who make Syntorial, a synthesizer ear-training program that I’ve actually been using for years! Highly recommended.
I contributed liner notes to this new Paul Jones album, “Let’s Get Tropical”, out now on Outside In Music! This is a great modern jazz recording featuring an all-star rhythm section of Phil Markowitz (piano), Linda May Han Oh (bass) and Clarence Penn (drums).

The recent performance with Kevin Norton (vibraphone, drums), Steve LaSpina (bass), and Julia Simoniello (vocals) can be heard here.

Here is a new Louis Weeks “rescore” that I worked on. For his rescores, Louis takes an existing opening title sequence or trailer, and composes a new piece of music to go with it. His approach to this contemporary western series exhibits a strong Ennio Morricone influence, which extends to my guitar part as well.
On January 22nd I’ll be at H0L0 in Queens performing with Bobby Previte’s Blueprints! Bobby explains this unique project in detail here.
I met Bobby at his first annual Improvisation Workshop in Hudson, NY last summer. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend applying for this year’s edition! More information including the application can be found here.

My arranging, composing, and guitar playing are featured in this new short film, Thick as Thieves, directed by Sam Fichtner. It has received 4.4 stars from Indie Shorts Mag, 4 stars from UK Film Review, and 4 stars from Take 2 Indie Review. Again I collaborated with Louis Weeks and Ethan Helm. Enjoy the teaser below, which uses some of the music we created for this project.
Thick as Thieves premiered at the Portland Comedy Film Festival on November 1, where it is won the Best Romantic Comedy Film Award!
September 2019

I’m excited to share that my electric guitar playing can be heard in the score of this new film! The Planters had its world premier at Raindance Film Festival in the UK in September, where it won Film of The Festival! (Read more about it at Raindance and Screen Daily.) It then premiered in North America at Nashville Film Festival in October, where it won a Best of the Fest Audience Award, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Song! Here’s a great review from Nashville Scene. Most recently, at the Austin Film Festival, it won the Comedy Vanguard Jury Award, and the Comedy Vanguard Audience Award! In its festival coverage, The Rice Thresher gave the film five stars.
Next up are two screenings in LA as part of AFI Fest, on November 15 and November 19.
The score also features contributions from my frequent collaborators Louis Weeks and Ethan Helm. Here’s a teaser:
