Noah Berman is a performer, composer, writer, and educator. His work in these areas reflects his interest in, broad knowledge of, and ability to combine many musical influences. This gives Noah a unique voice and makes him an ideal collaborator. Currently, he is a member of the Performing Arts faculty at Berwick Academy in South Berwick, ME, where he leads two Guitar Ensembles and teaches private guitar lessons.

As a guitarist, Noah has performed with renowned musicians and ensembles in rock, jazz, and classical music. These include Sean Lennon, Pat Sansone (Wilco), Mauro Refosco (David Byrne), Cibo Matto, Kevin Norton, Steve LaSpina, Bobby Previte, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed at some of the most prestigious venues on the East Coast including The 9:30 Club, The Stone, and The Kennedy Center. His guitar playing can be heard in the new film The Planters (Film of the Festival, Raindance Film Festival 2019).

Noah has appeared on over 15 albums as a recording artist and session musician. This work has garnered critical acclaim and mentions from outlets including The Washington Post and NPR, and has appeared in year-end “best of” lists from the Washington City Paper and ChunkyGlasses.

Noah was a contributor for Ethan Iverson’s DoTheGigNYC site, writing reviews and analysis of live performances in New York City.

Since 2014, he has been on the faculty at Camp Encore/Coda, where he teaches private lessons, ensembles, and classes in the classical and jazz/rock departments. He teaches private students in the USA and internationally via email and Zoom.

In 2012, Noah earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance from the Eastman School of Music.
